Helly Hansen is looking for a Sustainability Specialist responsible for data and environment.
In summary, the Sustainability Specialist, data, and environment will be part of the ESG team in Oslo. Key responsibility will be to collect, analyse, and interpret environmental data relevant to the company and products. Primary focus will be to support with various calculations needed for reporting and follow up on the company’s progress. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance sustainability efforts and drive data-informed decisions. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the supply chain team to identify and map the environment impact of Helly Hansen’s supply chain and align that with their sustainability goals.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Data Collection and Analysis
- Gather, organize, and analyse sustainability data related to textile production, materials sourcing and product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain databases to manage sustainability metrics and information.
GHG Emission Calculations
- Measure, report and manage GHG emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 according to the GHG protocol.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders externally and internally to gather relevant data needed from own operations, supply chain, transportation, and user phase.
Progress Reporting
- Annually report climate emission progress in needed systems like HH annual report, CDP, STICA, Climate Action Corp.
- Develop and maintain sustainability dashboards and reports, highlighting key performance indicators related to GHG emissions, material compliance and sustainability goals.
- Communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.
Environmental Impact Assessment and Supply Chain Collaboration
- Assessment to evaluate the environmental impact of our supply chain.
- Define and monitor key sustainability performance indicators, establishing benchmarks for improvement.
- Collaborate on initiatives to reduce environmental impact, such as optimizing transportation, logistics, decarbonisation and reducing waste.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements throughout the production and distribution processes.
Skills and merits of the ideal candidate:
- Has a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Textile Engineering or a related field.
- Min 5 years expertise, preferably in the textile industry.
- Background in social or environmental sustainability.
- Proven experience and expertise in data analysis, preferably within the textile industry and in various softwear tools.
- Experience from Higg Index is an advantage.
- Experience from PLM Centric is an advantage
- Language skills must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Familiar with textile production processes and materials sourcing
